Major was sired by CH Tapeatom Headliner, imported from South Africa. Headliner was a quality yellow male with a pedigree grounded in Tapeatom and Sandylands lines. He was a balanced dog, not extreme in any area, with a good coat and the classic otter tail.

Major’s dam is one of our most influential producers, contributing to some of the most decorated Morndew dogs and forming the foundation of many of our current lines. With a pedigree based on Driftway lines, this remarkable dam produced Major alongside his siblings, Morndew Jaide and Morndew The Deal Breaker, all exemplifying the success of this breeding.

Major was a well-sized yellow male, true to type, with a masculine head, a true Labrador double coat featuring ample undercoat, and the hallmark otter tail—one of many notable attributes of this handsome boy. His head was strong and masculine, with good eye shape, excellent eye color, and very good pigmentation. He had a correct ear set and size, a strong reach of neck flowing into well-laid shoulders, a well-barrelled chest, and good depth of brisket.

Standing on strong, well-boned forelegs, Major had slightly sloping pasterns, arched toes, strong nails, and tight, well-formed feet. His topline was strong and level, with a tail set that followed the line perfectly. He had good muscling, a short, strong loin, and excellent overall balance.

Major’s hindquarters were powerful, with good strength and an ideal turn of stifle. His short hocks added to the strength and drive of his movement, creating a balanced and impressive overall picture.

Beyond his physical attributes, Major had an exceptional temperament. Gentle, biddable, and adaptable, he was at home in any situation and loved the show ring. A highlight of Major’s career was being awarded Puppy in Show at the 2018 NSW Labrador Championship Show—a testament to his quality and presence.
