Sired by the distinguished SVK CH Riverlab’s Cardamon (imported from Slovakia), Cinnamon brings a rich pedigree to Australian show rings. Cardamon himself is a prolific producer, having sired specialty winners across Europe, Scandinavia, and Australia, including a notable progeny awarded Reserve Best of Breed at Crufts. I was captivated by this dog’s quality when he was just over a year old, completely unaware of his star-studded lineage. Thanks to the dedication of his owner, Ivana, who facilitated the semen’s import to Australia, we were able to bring Cardamon’s lineage to our lines here, despite not initially having a chocolate female to breed with him.

Cinnamon’s dam, the lovely Lowereplabs Harlequin (AI), brings a foundation from the respected Catraz kennels, making this pairing a true “match made in heaven.” Cinnamon herself is a strong, upstanding chocolate female, true to type, with a classic Labrador head, a true double coat, and the hallmark otter tail—distinctive features that embody the Labrador standard.

Cinnamon’s head has a pleasant yet sturdy profile, with good eye shape and rare quality eye color for a chocolate—well-set ears of ideal size, and a smooth, well-laid shoulder. She has a nicely barreled chest and excellent depth of brisket, standing on strong, well-boned forelegs with slightly sloping pasterns, tight feet, arched toes, and strong nails. Her topline is level, with a tail set to match, though she is slightly short in leg, showing good muscle tone and a strong, compact loin.

Her hindquarters are equally impressive, showcasing good strength with a defined first and second thigh, ample turn of stifle, and short, robust hocks. Cinnamon’s temperament is exemplary: soft, gentle, and highly biddable, allowing her to adapt seamlessly to any environment. She has made an impression in the show ring from her early days as a baby puppy, winning hearts every time she’s shown.
